Dr. Moghadam has extensive management experience on many large high tech projects as well as multinational multidiscipline programs in various countries around the world, and has conducted training seminars in the USA, UK, UAE, and several other countries across the world on regular basis. As the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of several multinational corporations, Dr. Moghadam has more than thirty-five years of extensive experience in all phases of various high tech projects, including information and communications technology (ICT), power projects, and oil industry programs from inception to completion. He has had direct responsibility for components of Star War Projects for the US Government with security clearance, implementation of automated management information systems serving the needs of entire corporations and many government agencies, as well as large multinational programs related to the energy industries in the Middle-East, Africa and other parts of the world.
Dr. Moghadam has earned several advance degrees in computers, communications, and management science, including a Doctor of Science (D. Sc.) degree with emphasis on Information Technology (GWU-1986), an Applied Scientist (App. Sc.) degree in Computers (GWU-1980), a Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Communications (GWU-1975), another Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Management (GWU 1973), and a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering (AIT-1964), and has completed many industrial training seminars. Dr. Moghadam is fluent in Persian (Farsi), and has basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Mr. Planton, has more than twenty-six years of experience as an economist specializing in feasibility analysis, market assessment and financial forecasting for industrial clients involved in litigation and business development. He has experience in start-up companies both as an entrepreneur and as a consultant for capital formation projects. In 1997 Mr. Planton founded the Center for Economic and Financial Analysis for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and from 2000-2006 he participated in an energy auction business for SAIC that specializes in developing market-based solutions for purchasing energy, green credits and financial instruments on behalf of government and private sector clients. Mr. Planton started the Quarry House Group in 2006 as an investment advisory firm that provides strategic business planning, project evaluation and direct/indirect equity participation.
Mr. Planton has managed a number of high profile engagements for commercial clients seeking capital formation or international expansion. In the telecommunications sector, he has helped clients raise capital (in excess of $2.0 billion) for GSM mobile licenses in Saudi Arabia and Algeria. He has also assisted in divesture and debt restructuring projects in Zambia, Burundi and a number of other East African countries. During 2008, Mr. Planton was retained by the International Financial Corporation (of the World Bank) to help privatize the Botswana Telephone Corporation. He led a team that evaluated the financial health of the corporation, determined a 5-year EBITDA forecast, and provided all due diligence information. Mr. Planton advised the Minister of Communications on the structure of the sale to maximize the price from the market as well as, preserving the expansion of the telecommunications sector in Botswana. In the medical/ pharmaceutical sector Mr. Planton has developed market assessments for firms seeking angel or venture financing for new products in the development stage.
In the energy sector Mr. Planton has served as a consultant and advisory for clients engaged in carbon trading and capacity building. He has evaluated projects in the Africa and Asia under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as well as domestic green energy ventures. In 2006 Mr. Planton assembled a team of international firms to market a brokerage concept to Eastern European governments to assist in the divesture of carbon credits under the Kyoto Protocol. In 2007, he was retained by a New York-based investment firm to conduct a feasibility study for sugar cane ethanol plant in Kunming China. Mr. Planton designed the study as well as supervised a team conducting the agronomy study, the transportation analysis and the feasibility of establishing a bio fuel blending capability for southern China.
Recently Mr. Planton has been retained by a number of Fortune 500© clients to manage large business development efforts for a Smart Grid project in Ontario, a substation automation project for Los Angeles, and an engineering support contract for the DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). He also led one of the largest successful grant applications under the Recovery Act of 2009. Mr. Planton managed an effort for one of the largest U.S. utilities for a Department of Energy stimulus grant of $57.7 million.
Mr. Planton has a BA in Economics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a M.A. in International Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Moghadam has years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field on US and international projects, and several international programs in the field of IT and Energy sector (oil & gas and power projects). He has been involved with such projects from inception to successful completion. Mr. Moghadam has over ten years of extensive work experience, with his most recent assignments in executive management positions. He started with the NDC Group and later with Xpedior in a project management role. Past clients include AT&T, MCI, Sprint, WinStar, UUNET, E*TRADE, Oracle, AOL, SAIC, IBM, several dot.com companies.
Mr. Moghadam holds a B.S. with Honors from James Madison University, and an M.S. from the University of Virginia. He currently sits on the Advisory Board for the McIntire Business School at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Kevin Rose graduated with a BBA in marketing from Pacific Lutheran University. In 2007-2008, Mr. Rose worked with local Non-Profits creating new marketing plans and conducting extensive market research primarily focused on increasing market penetration.
In February of 2008, Mr. Rose began an internship with an alternative energy company. The internship entailed numerous tasks within the marketing department and principally involved internet marketing, web development, and drafting business plans.
Upon graduation, he was offered a position at the company in the marketing/communications department. While at the company, they were successful in permitting a full scale waste-to-energy plant in Washington State.
Mr. Rose continued work in the alternative energy industry, conducting assistance in website development, corporate document drafting including business plans, private placement memorandums, marketing brochures and other solicited and unsolicited proposals for private entities and municipalities that have enhanced the company development for 3 major alternative energy companies.
Mr. Rose is currently a director of a bio-fuel re-formulator company that works within a wholesale distribution channel with companies using varying diesel combustion equipment. The company product lines are tested and certified to increase fuel economy and reduce the opacity emissions in diesel combustion engines.
Mr. Giordano started his career in 1960 working as a stock telephone clerk with Dominic & Dominic, Inc., member’s of the New Stock Exchange (NYSE) & National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). Shortly thereafter Mr. Giordano began working the floor of the American Stock Exchange (ASE) where he was hired as a stock telephone order clerk with Dishey, Easton, Inc. members of (ASE).
In 1969 Mr. Giordano became a registered ASE floor broker representing Charles Plohn & Co. In 1971 he transferred his membership to Henry Krieger, Inc. (HKR), bringing with him his stock execution experience and a $2.00 broker base in excess of $150,000.
In 1975 Mr. Giordano transferred to Chicago as a General Partner in charge of Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) trading floor operations for Neuberger, Berman & Co. (NBR) an investment banking firm managing over $6 Billion worth of assets, hedging or covering their daily trading positions.
In 1981, and in response to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rule 11A, Mr. Giordano came to an amicable agreement where he would be NBR’s exclusive independent executing broker, creating TOG Options, Inc. The next two years he successfully created one of CBOE’s largest options firms executing over 1 Million contracts each month for Broker Dealers (BD)/75 Correspondents of BD’s, employed over 30 people, (6) registered floor brokers, phone clerks, runners and office personnel. Three (3) years later he purchased a membership (Seat) at the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX).
Starting in the late 80’s early 90’s, electronic stock/options executions and discounted fees started eliminating the need for TOG’s execution services. Mr. Giordano formed a joint venture agreement with Ned Bennett, President at Gelderman Securities,Inc.
Mr. Giordano has maintained current and past business acquaintances and connections and continues to be active in business development for many industries, specializing in raising capital for shovel-ready projects around the world.
Mr. Musmar is a managing partner of MillerMusmar which provides tax, accounting and advisory services; ranging from complex tax planning for mergers & acquisitions to financial and benefits planning for corporate executives and entrepreneurs. With over 12 years experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, his experience includes several years with the accounting firms of Deloitte & Touché and Arthur Andersen.
He was a significant contributor in the corporate tax compliance division for both firms, which led to the formation of his own firm. As a member of Deloitte & Touché, he established and headed their Compliance and Tax Technology Group, significantly contributed to the development and testing of their software packages and worked on data integration projections to ensure timely and accurate tax returns. While at Arthur Andersen, he worked in the Real Estate, Enterprise and Compliance Services Groups, where he was responsible for not only corporate, but also partnership and individual tax compliance and planning. In addition to his strengths in tax compliance and planning, He is well versed in accounting software management and installation.
Mr. Musmar received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and an Accredited Business Valuator (ABV). He also holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation, and is Series 7 securities licensed.
Engineer Asadi has over thirty years of field engineering and project management experience on Electrical and Mechanical systems and projects. From 1975 to 1980 he was in charge of a project for the Air Force (installation of oxygen factory, diesel generators for electrical plant, converters, deep water well pumps, central heating, air conditioning plants, and more in the Middle East.
From 1982 to 1984 Mr. Asadi was Head of Electromechanical Engineering Department for Army Buildings supervising different types of project done by various contractors, chillers installation, cold storage, and other relevant components of the various projects.
From 1984 to 1988 attended Wuppertal University in Germany for MS Degree in Electromechanical Branch and worked at Brunner Consultants Company in the field of Electrical Design and Project control in city mechanical works such as water supply pipelines, gas pipelines, and heating systems.
From 1997 to Present Mr. Asadi has worked with ITOK Consultants Company as Electromechanical Engineer/Project Manager on several major programs such as Gas Injection Project and Concentrate Iron Complex.
Mr. Asadi earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from University of Tehran in 1965 and another Master of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Wuppertal University, Germany in 1987. He also completed on-the-Job training in the USA in the late 70s. Mr. Asadi knows English, German and Farsi, and the popular off-the-shelf computer software packages for everyday work.
Dr. Cherian is an Executive with hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, and research, and a problem solver in manufacturing processes, materials, and electro-mechanical systems. As President and owner of ST Fabrication, Inc. he has been involved in operations and fiscal management, quality assurance, scheduling, and procurement. As Director of Program Management – AIM Aviation, he directly supervised program managers on composite aircraft interiors and oversaw reports from sales, contracts, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing. He also provided engineering, quality, reliability, and procurement surveillance for the company.
Dr. Cherian worked as Lead Engineer/Material Scientist for Boeing Commercial Airplane Company in Seattle in the 90s. In this position he provided critical failure analysis, process development and improvement, and new materials characterization using the analysis techniques of ESCA/XPS, AES, SIMS, EDX, and SEM. He also managed laboratory certifications with the FAA and compliance with ISO 9001 standards an performed construction management for facilities and laboratory upgrades including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, hazardous emissions, solid wastes, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
As Manufacturing Engineer for British Petroleum Chemicals (bought by Hexcel), he performed manufacturing engineering, for Boeing, design engineering for tooling and fixtures for composites and metal fabrication, tooling coordinator for manufacturing plant, responsible for tooling design and rework. As Laboratory Operations Manager for Fatigue Technology, Inc. he managed daily operation of large state of the art mechanical testing facilities and technical staff. As Research Specialist for Flow Industries, Inc. he conducted fluid mechanics experiments in wind tunnels and water tanks.
Dr. Cherian has earned a Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science – Materials Science and Engineering, and Ph.D. Candidate (diploma granted) – Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Cherian has published many scientific and engineering papers.
Mr. Shaikh is a partner with Sidley Austin LLP, and represents U.S. and foreign sponsors, lenders, government agencies, contractors and other participants in the development, financing, acquisition, sale, or restructuring of a wide variety of infrastructure projects. He has advised on projects in the energy, petrochemical, steel, paper, telecom, sports arena, hotel, real estate and other industries in the U.S., and in over 20 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe. Several of these projects involved foreign governments and Export Credit Agencies. Mr. Shaikh advised the World Bank in the first project investment of its Prototype Carbon Fund, preparing the model contract for subsequent emissions credits generating projects. He has also worked with other multilateral institutions.
Additionally, Mr. Shaikh has advised new and emerging companies through their initial development and financing. He is experienced in banking, securities, derivatives, and general corporate matters. He has substantial on-the-ground experience in several parts of Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. He has published and presented extensively on international transactions and foreign affairs topics.
Mr. Shaikh was formerly an investment banking Associate in the Derivative Products Group of Bankers Trust, and an Analyst in the Fixed Income Division of Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Shaikh is admitted to practice law in New York and Washington DC. He earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center in 1992, when he graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Coif; served as the Senior Notes Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal; was a John M. Olin Law & Economics Scholar, and a Jessup Moot Court Competition-Atlantic Region Champion, International Finalist B.A. Mr. Shaikh received a B.A. in International Relations, Yale University in 1986, cum laude, with distinction in the major. He serves in corporate and non-profits bonds and has published and lectured extensively.
